But where are the bees? (shrug shoulders)
Hidden away where nobody sees (cover fist)
Watch and you’ll see them come out of the hive
1, 2, 3, 4, 5 …. They’re alive! (count on fingers)
Buzzzzz (tickle)

Where is Bear? (Tune: Where is Thumbkin)

How are you today sir? (wiggle one thumb)
Very tired, thank you. (wiggle other thumb)
Go to sleep. Go to sleep. (hide behind back)

Two Little Black Bears

Two little black bears sitting on a hill (hold up thumbs)

Two little black bears digging in the snow
One named Fast and one named Slow
Run away Fast, run away Slow (move thumbs fast and slow)
Come back Fast, come back Slow

Two little black bears feeling very proud
One named Quiet and one named Loud
Run away Quiet, run away Loud (speak softly and loudly)
Come back Quiet, come back Loud

Five in the Bed

There were five in the bed (hold up 5 fingers)
And the little one said
“Roll over, roll over.” (roll hands)
So they all rolled over and one fell out.

(count down)

There was one in the bed
And the little on said.
“I’m lonely, so lonely.”

Color Bears (Tune: Twinkle Twinkle)

Color bears, color bears, what do I see?
I see a (color) bear smiling at me!
(repeat with other colors)

How it Went: Bears will always be one of my favorite storytime themes. There are so many great bear books that it is hard to pick just 3! This week I used a lot of classic childhood songs (where it thumbkin, two little black birds) and replaced them with bears, it went over really well.
