Croak Said the Frog

Croak said the frog
With his golden eyes (fists up to eyes)
Sitting on a lily pad
Catching flies (grab at the air)
I have a sticky tongue (stick tongue out)
It’s as fast as can be
And I catch the mosquitoes (grab at the air)

How it Went: When I first decided on a frog theme I thought “this will be easy, there are a ton of frog picture books, songs and rhymes.” Well I proved myself wrong! This theme went down in story time flames (along with bats which was so terrible that I didn’t even bother making a post about it). None of the books I found were very attention grabbing and my little ones just wiggled through most of it. They did really enjoy Animal Action II and Two Little Frogs, which I adapt to as many animals as possible. If anyone else has ever done a frog theme I’d love to know how it worked out for you and what you read!
