Fall is Not Easy by Marty Kelley

How it Went: This is an all ages storytime that is DOMINATED by toddlers because of this I did an introduction to Fall. We talked about how the weather is starting to get colder, the leaves start to change colors and many animals prepare for winter by storing food in their homes. Discussing this before hand gave them more context for the books. Today’s storytime was a lot of fun, children especially loved pretending to rake up a big leaf pile and jump in! I typically bring out a cart full of special toys at the end of storytime but today I brought out the parachute. We sang a few songs with the parachute and then I put felt leaves on it. There were lots of happy giggles while we made the leaves fly (not so much from the custodian when I needed his help getting down leaves that were stuck to the ceiling… one still remains).
