Storytime: Scarves (Part 2)

And as promised… here is the second part of how I use scarves in my programs. Don’t miss out on the first half which can be found here. I typically sing each song 2-3 times, this way by the end the children and parents know all of the actions.

If You’re Happy and You Know It
If you’re happy and you know it wave your scarf
If you’re happy and you know it wave your scarf
If you’re happy and you know it, then your face will surely show it
If you’re happy and you know it wave your scarf
(throw your scarf)
(play peek-a-boo)

Jack in the Box
Jack in the box (hold scarf in fist)
Sitting so still
Will he come out?
Yes, he will! (throw scarf)

Let’s Go Riding on an Elevator
Let’s go riding on an elevator (wave scarf up and down)
Elevator, elevator
Let’s go riding on an elevator,
Come along with me!
First floor, second, floor, third floor, fourth floor, fifth floor (shake scarf at different heights)
And…down, down, down, down, down (lower scarf to floor)

Little Bo Peep
Little Bo Peep has lost her sheep (wave scarf and hide it behind back)
And doesn’t know where to find them (shake head side to side)
Leave them alone and they’ll come home
Wagging their tails behind them (wag scarf out from behind back)

London Bridge
London bridge is falling down (wave scarf up and down)
Falling down, falling down
London bridge if falling down
My fair lady
Build it up with sticks and stones (fist over fist)

My Scarf Goes Up and Down (Tune: Farmer in the Dell)
My scarf goes up and down (wave scarf up and down)

My scarf goes round and round  (wave scarf in a circle)

My scarf goes in and out (wave scarf out front and bring in towards you)

One Bright Scarf
One bright scarf waiting for the wind to blow (hold scarf out to side)
Wiggle it high (shake overhead)
And wiggle it low (shake on the group)
Shake it fast (shake fast)
And shake it slow (shake slow)
Where did it go? (hide behind back)
